Mount Annapurna Secondary School proudly participated in the celebration of World
Environment Day 2024, emphasizing the importance of environmental awareness and
community responsibility. This year’s theme, “Protecting Our Planet,” inspired students and
teachers to take meaningful action by organizing a large-scale cleanup initiative within the
school and its surrounding locality.
The day began with an informative assembly where students learned about the significance of
World Environment Day and the impact of pollution on our planet. Faculty members
highlighted the need for sustainable practices and encouraged students to become proactive
stewards of the environment. This educational session set the stage for the day’s activities,
igniting enthusiasm among students to contribute positively to their community.
Equipped with gloves, trash bags, and a spirit of teamwork, students spread out across the
school grounds and nearby neighborhoods. Divided into groups, they worked diligently to pick
up litter, sort recyclable materials, and beautify the area. The energetic atmosphere was filled
with laughter and camaraderie as students bonded over their shared goal of making a
difference.
In addition to the cleanup, students engaged in educational workshops on recycling,
composting, and the importance of conserving resources. They learned practical ways to reduce
their environmental footprint, both at school and at home.
The celebration of World Environment Day 2024 at Mount Annapurna Secondary School was
not just about cleaning; it was a powerful reminder of the collective responsibility we share in
caring for our planet. Through their hard work and dedication, students demonstrated that
small actions can lead to significant changes. The school community left the day with a renewed
commitment to sustainability and a clearer understanding of the importance of protecting our
environment for future generations.
